BIRMINGHAM STEEL PLANT EXPANSION

OVERVIEW
Dunn Building Company served as General Contractor on this project. Birmingham Steel Southeast purchased a steel plant previously owned by Atlantic Steel. (The facility is now owned by Nucor Steel.)

The project consisted of approximately 60,000 SF of new metal building construction, designed for heavy crane-load criteria. The project scope also included deep concrete-foundation work for new rolling-mill equipment installations.

Construction on this $8 million-plus project was completed in 8 months.
