Dunn designed and constructed this new 28,000 SF facility to house homeless men in Birmingham, Alabama. The main building will be constructed from a pre-engineered structure with insulated metal panels and a standing seam metal roof. The foundations are a monolithic slab and spread footings. The interior walls are constructed from a mix of CMU and metal stud framed drywall partitions. Finishes will include painted walls, epoxy coated floors, polished concrete floors, ceramic and quarry tile floors. The facility is equipped with a full functioning commercial kitchen, administrative offices, case management rooms, exam rooms, lounge area, dining area, shelter and courtyard. The facility will be heated and cooled by roof top units, and will have a diesel fired generator in case of power outages. The exterior will include a surface asphalt parking lot with curb and gutter, sidewalks and landscaping.
